Fenland Trail

Fenland Trail is a flat, 2.2km walking loop that is ideal for families or a quick run just outside Banff. Although not in Canmore, it’s only a 15-minute drive away and can easily be combined with catching a movie or walking the streets of Banff.
TRAILHEAD
From Canmore, drive west along the Trans-Canada Highway for approximately 21km and take the second exit for Banff (also signed for Mt Norquay Road). Turn left on Mt. Norquay Road toward Banff. Drive only a short way and take your second right into a gravel parking lot. The trail starts at the west side of the parking lot.
TRAIL
From the parking lot, take the trail west into the trees. Cross the bridge. On the other side of the bridge, you can continue either right or left. (The trail is a loop, so you’ll come back to the bridge either way.) Enjoy a scenic, flat walk for 2.2km, bringing you back to where you started.
NOTE
On the north side of the loop, there is a small bridge that connects to the Vermilion Lakes Trail. Take the bridge if you would like to make your walk longer.
